At Stravon Game Estate our main Deer hunting season starts mid March and runs through to the end of August.

In New Zealand you can hunt deer all year round but the best time to do it is when the stags are in the Roar and trying to gather hinds.

If you would like to be here for this time of year then please book between March and May.

This is a busy time at Stravon Game Estate so if you are planning on being here for the Roar please book early to avoid disappointment

Tahr and Chamois season is again all year round but the best time if you want to get a trophy bull Tahr or Chamois in full winter coat is between mid April to mid June.

If you are interested in the ultimate free range experience we suggest you try your hand at the wild West Coast of the South Island

Stravon Game Estate also owns a private slice of wilderness on the West Coast of the South Island and each year we take beautiful animals from this sub tropical rain forest.
